Final Cancellation from 28.08.2020:
In the meantime we can dance together again and had announced (see below) that we would then consider holding the Berlin Open this year.
This announcement is not so long ago, but feels as if it was from another century… We arrived in Corona mode and accepted that Corona is not a question of weeks. In times when we should continue to avoid any „unnecessary“ contact, the question simply arises: „Do we have to?“ The answer is simple: „No!“.
Considering the actual Corona regulations it is simply not possible to hold tournaments as we know them (no sightings, no cheering by the other dancers…). We have now decided to cancel the Berlin Open for this year. That is a pity, but there are worse things.

Preliminary Cancellation from 10.05.2020:
We argued, we hoped, we feared, and some even prayed…… and now it’s still time: due to the corona pandemic and the restrictions associated with it, we cancel the 9th. Open Berlin Championships for couples of women and men in the Ballroom and Latin American dances on the date 20th June 2020.
We will monitor further developments. It’s a threat to all those who make themselves too comfortable on the couch. If, at a later date in the year, the restrictions were relaxed to such an extent that both a training would be possible again and the holding of an event with a minimum of atmosphere could be foreseen, we would name a new date within the year 2020. For this we would give ourselves and all dancers 2 months in advance, so that we can still organize a little, and you still train a little.
??????In year 2020 pinkballroom organizes the 19th Berlin Open Dance Competitions for Women and Men Couples in Latin & Ballroom. We are glad to welcome amazing dancers from all over Europe, the fantastic audience, glad faces at each side…. It is not only the “most important competition in Germany after the German championship” (Dörte Lange, DVET) but an especially charming and lovely competition as a fix date in the competition calendar. We expect once again a colourful national and international field of competitors, which will inspire with diversity and quality.??????
