German Championship 2023

The German and international Equality Dance Sport scene will meet the weekend before May 1, 2023 in Berlin at pinkballroom on Columbiadamm. The tournaments of the Open German Championship will be held on Saturday and Sunday – that is on April 29th & 30th. Accompanying Standard and Latin, both show categories are also danced in the competitions of the German Championships. In addition (and thus outside the German Championships), we will again host a Queer Tournament on Saturday for those who do not feel welcome in the women identified and men identified categories. For the first time we will also host a Wheel tournament for Equality couples with wheelchairs.

The German Championships of Equality Dance Sport will now take place for the 3rd time in Berlin: After the first German Championships were held in Berlin in 2005 (before the DVET was founded), and the ninth in 2013, the 18th Open German Championships will take place again in Berlin in 2023.

pinkballroom celebrates its 25th birthday this year. In 1998 was launched a new offer exclusively for equality ballroom dancing under the brand „pinkballroom“ – for the first time in a DTV dance sports club. We still dance and party! Let us surprise you.

Friday, April 28th, 2023:

  • 18:00 – 19:00: warm-up Standard
  • 19:00 – 20:00: warm-up Latin & pre-Check-in
  • Following welcome

Saturday, April 29th, 2023:

  • ca. 11:00: SEN women identified Standard & SEN men identified Latin & Queer Latin & Wheel Standard
  • ca. 14:00: ADULTS men identified Standard & ADULTS women identified Latin & Queer Standard & Wheel Latin
  • End: ca. 19:00
  • following rehearsals show groups & show couples (alternatively also Sat/Sun morning)

Sunday, April 30th, 2023:

  • ca. 11:00: SEN women identified Latin & SEN men identified Standard
  • ca. 13:00: ADULTS men identified Latin& ADULTS women identified Standard
  • ca. 18:00: preliminary round show groups & show couples
  • 20:00:       Dancing „QueerMayBall“ incl. finals show groups & show couples

Monday, May 1st, 2023:

  • 11:00 – 14:00: brunch on the terrasse of the club building
